The resort is located at the start of the Great Ocean Road in Torquay – a thriving coastal town just 10 minutes from the internationally renowned Bells Beach and mere moments from eateries and boutiques. Drop into the Australian National Surfing Museum, visit 4 Pines Brewing Company, explore nearby wineries like Bellbrae Estate or cruise along one of Australia’s most famed stretches of coastline.

The Sands Torquay is approximately a 90-minute drive from Melbourne Airport (MEL) or 40 minutes from Avalon Airport (AVV). Airport transfers are not included in your package, please plan accordingly.

So good, spotless, staff fabulous, room was lovely. The joy of sitting on the balcony at the end of the day was soooo good and that bed, was so comfortable I was loathe to get up. Highly recommend The Sands

I just want to say Carlene was amazing in assisting me with multiple date changes and numbers of guests staying. So incredibly helpful and unfussed by all of my mucking her around. I could not recommend enough. If Carlene is representative of this venue then I have no doubt it is amazing. Thank you so much. Paul.

Stayed at the sands Saturday night 30th August. Room seemed lovely until I tried to go to bed. The mattress topper made me feel so hot and the mattress itself was so uncomfortable I immediately had severe back pain. So much so that I packed up and went home at 11:30PM that night. When you pay to stay somewhere nice you would think the bed would be comfortable. I did not enjoy driving home in the dark on a wet and cold night. I did not get any offer of compensation for a wasted evening away. Very very disappointing. Booking was under Jodie Bruce.. happy to discuss my complaint.. Also the hand wash was only a quarter full. I would think it would be a given to refill bottles when room is serviced. Also heater did not work very loud noise. Sorry 😞
