THE FIRST DAY.. Location is beautiful.Its on the banks of the backwaters and only 4KM from the railway station.The property is a heritage one so it has all the grandeur. Unfortunately, I got my room past 2:00 PM and it was very smelly(the guys who stayed before has some very pungent food, is what my guess is) The staff of the hotel agreed that the room was smelly but did not have another room.I was reluctant to stay there so finally they found a room for me but now I need to wait for another 45 minutes for them to make the room ready. Waiting in the lobby, I have decided to write this...(not sure if I will post it.Just venting out my frustration)it was a long journey from Bangalore and I am tired and irritated.Phew, finally I got the room.I have two days stay so will give my review on the last day. REVIEW ON THE LAST DAY. The hospitality is top notch,the staffs are super friendly and helpful, food is awesome,the infinity swimming pool visually merges with the backwaters .The complimentary boat ride during the sunset was very romantic.The lounge bar is not very expensive compared to any place in Bangalore. To add to all this they have given me a late check-out to make up for my late check-in. Super awesome holiday I had with my family.Thanks Leela -always living up to it name.

The location is good. It faces the lake. The property has large area outside touching the lake where guests can walk and sit. They also have boats which takes the guests for 50 minute complementary boat ride everyday at 4:30pm. The food was amazing. I stayed for 3 days and had buffet breakfast and buffet lunch/dinner each day and every single time the food was amazing. Each dish was tasty and there was enough variety each time. I really like variety in the food. This was totally worth it. The staff is professional and friendly and accommodating. The hotel should consider offering rooms at discounts similar to other 5 star hotels even if it is during off-season period.

We recently visited The Leela Raviz Hotel in Kollam, Kerala to celebrate my sister’s wedding anniversary, expecting a high-quality experience from a 5-star property. Unfortunately, it turned out to be very disappointing. Despite the hotel’s beautiful location and branding as a luxury destination, the food served was not fresh at all. Many of the dishes lacked flavor, and some tasted like they had been prepared long before being served. This was especially disheartening given the importance of the occasion. Beyond the food, the overall service and atmosphere were far below expectations. Staff seemed inattentive, and there was a general lack of care in how things were handled—from table setup to hospitality. For a 5-star hotel, we expected professionalism, attention to detail, and warmth—all of which were missing. We didn’t stay overnight, so I can’t speak to the rooms, but based on our experience during the event, I would not recommend this hotel for special occasions or fine dining. It simply didn’t live up to the standards that a five-star hotel should meet.

Our stay was excellent overall. The check-in and check-out process was very smooth—check-in was completed within 5 minutes, and we were given our room by 12:15 PM, well ahead of the standard 2:00 PM check-in time, which was a pleasant surprise. The infinity pool offered a stunning view and was one of the highlights of our stay. However, the view from our Royal Premium room was a bit underwhelming and could be improved. The buffet breakfast and dinner had sufficient variety, though not as extensive as some other 5-star hotels we've stayed at. That said, the quality of food was good, and the room service was impressively fast. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely consider returning
