The Leela Kovalam is pure luxury by the sea! Perched on a stunning cliff with panoramic views of the Arabian Sea, it offers one of the most breathtaking settings in Kerala. The rooms are spacious, beautifully maintained, and designed to capture the charm of the coastline. The infinity pool overlooking the ocean is simply magical, especially at sunset. The food is exceptional, with a mix of authentic Kerala flavors and global cuisine, all served with elegance. What truly elevates the experience is the staff — warm, professional, and attentive to every detail, making you feel pampered throughout your stay. From the serene spa to the private beach access, everything here is about comfort, beauty, and world-class hospitality. A must-visit for anyone seeking a memorable coastal getaway!

Day 1 Review of Our 2 Nights Stay We arrived and were checked into a Sea View Villa. The view was absolutely breathtaking, and the serene setting made for a beautiful start to our stay. However, the villa was located quite a distance from the main building, which made accessibility slightly inconvenient. Additionally, we felt that privacy could be improved the balcony door was glass with a wooden shutter but lacked a curtain, which would have helped with both privacy and light control. We shared our concerns with the team, and we truly appreciate the prompt support from the Assistant F&B Manager, Executive Housekeeper, and Sushmitha. They were very understanding and quickly arranged for us to move to a room in the main building, which felt more suitable for our needs. What really stood out today was the warmth of the staff every team member greeted us with a cheerful “Namaste,” which added a personal and welcoming touch. The service has been very interactive and genuinely helpful so far. That said, there are a few areas for improvement, particularly in terms of maintenance. Given that the hotel is over 50 years old, some of this is understandable, but a little extra upkeep could go a long way. The hotel offers a range of wellness activities like yoga and meditation, and it’s lovely to see three pools available for guests. One suggestion: while it’s polite to be addressed as “Sir” or “Madam,” using guest names would add a more personalized and luxurious touch to the experience.

The overall ambience of the hotel is great. I had booked the sea view villa room for two days. The villa rooms are in a different area from the main hotel. The room was good but the issue was that there was no privacy. There is a public road passing in between the property and the sea. So it was not possible to keep the doors open to get the sea view because there was always people and vehicles on that road and I feel that for such a huge price we pay, the stay was not worth enjoying. The sea view villas are not worth the money we pay for.
