Indeed an artful hotel! Our stay here was incredible. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. The location felt safe enough for us to be roaming around outside past midnight. Very close to shopping districts as well as several restaurants. Additionally, the place is very pet friendly. Overall, our stay was very comfortable with an artsy vibe.

Solid amenities, cheerful front desk, and sparkling clean rooms. Easy walk to Penn Station and midtown Attractions. Perfect size for a solo traveler. Be aware of very small rooms.

I’ll start with the positives — because there are some great things about this hotel. Location: The location is fantastic. It’s only two blocks from Penn Station, which makes getting around the city super convenient. There are plenty of restaurants and nice places nearby, and it’s just a short walk (about seven blocks) to the Javits Center area. Cleanliness: The hotel was clean, and housekeeping did a great job when they serviced my room. Given the limited space, I appreciated how well they managed to keep everything tidy. Now, for the parts that didn’t quite meet my expectations: Service: I visited for the NYC Marathon, and typically, hotels in the area do something small to recognize or support runners, but that wasn’t the case here. I’ve been to New York many times and usually find hotel staff to be friendly and welcoming. Unfortunately, during this stay, the staff seemed quite indifferent—and at times, even a little dismissive. Room: The photos online make the rooms look more appealing than they actually are. I understand it’s a boutique-style hotel, but the room felt somewhat outdated, and the limited space made it a bit uncomfortable. Amenities: The concept of a “water bar” sounds creative in theory, but in practice, it was a bit inconvenient to have to go down to the lobby just to fill a bottle—especially since the dispenser worked very slowly. Overall: The location is definitely the highlight, and that’s what you’re mainly paying for. However, if you’re looking for a place that offers strong service and good amenities, this might not be the best option for the price. I truly don’t mean to sound harsh—I know how much effort goes into running a hotel and providing good service. I just wanted to share my honest experience so future guests can have a clear picture, and hopefully, the team can take this feedback constructively.
