Had superb experience in shangri-la hambanthot in vacation. They gave us warm welcome. Location is super and they have huge space in the garden area. And also we played cricket also. Very well maintained property. Rooms are very clean with balcony. It's very comfortable. And also it's sea view one. There is a entrance to beachside olso, unfortunately it can't lock from the outside. Foods are very delicious and there is so many varieties to choose. The best part is we can have our meal with calm music or outside of the restaurant. From two swimming pools the best one for me is sunset pool. Superb place to spend evening time. Verymuch appreciate your hospitality. Thanks a lot.

It was a wonderful stay at Shangri-la Hambantota. We loved the variety of meal options, the children friendly pool with activities and specially the flying trapeze was a great adventure! The lovely crew of the hotel were extremely kind and helpful. We had a great time for two whole days and it definitely was worth the travel. Kids were able to engage in many activities and it was outstanding because they were never left out when adults were relaxing. Beach views, aesthetic swings, romantic ambience along with a polite and lovely crew made the stay magical!! Would love to visit again for the next holidays! Thank you.

A Remarkable Transformation — True Hospitality Restored| After my previous experience, I wasn’t sure what to expect when returning to Shangri-La Hambantota. But I have to say — what a difference true leadership can make. Under the attentive guidance and personal engagement of Deputy General Manager Uditha Jayamanna, the entire atmosphere of the resort has completely transformed. From the moment we arrived, it was clear that every detail had been reconsidered. The service was efficient, the staff attentive and genuinely caring, and the entire team radiated a sense of renewed pride and warmth. It felt as though the hotel had rediscovered its soul. With only a bit of focused effort and dedication, Mr. Jayamanna and his team have managed to elevate the experience to the level that truly reflects the Shangri-La name. It’s inspiring to see how small but meaningful changes — genuine attention, communication, and respect for guests — can create such a profound impact. This time, our stay was nothing short of phenomenal. The room, the nature, the people — everything worked in perfect harmony. It was a genuine holiday for both body and soul, filled with kindness, tranquility, and smiles. Congratulations to the entire team for this incredible turnaround. Shangri-La Hambantota has once again become a place worthy of its name — and I can wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone seeking a true five-star experience.

Our family spent 2 days at Shangri-La Hambantota, and it was a truly memorable getaway. The resort is spacious, beautifully maintained, and perfect for families, with plenty of activities to keep the kids entertained. The pools, play areas, and family-friendly atmosphere made our stay both fun and relaxing. The food was excellent, and a special thanks goes to Indika Kodithuwakku (F&B Service Manager), who was incredibly friendly and went out of his way to fulfill our special requests. The staff overall were pleasant, attentive, and welcoming throughout our stay. The only downside is that weekends can get quite crowded, so for a calmer experience, weekdays are definitely the better option. Another highlight of the hotel is its in-house boutiques. Sanjeewa’s handcrafts boutique is filled with beautifully made, authentic pieces that reflect Sri Lanka’s rich tradition of craftsmanship. Sanjeewa himself is warm and passionate, taking time to explain the stories behind his creations, which made shopping there feel personal and memorable. Thushara’s elephant paintings boutique is equally special — his paintings are vibrant, detailed, and capture the spirit and beauty of Sri Lanka’s elephants. His kindness and welcoming nature made visiting his shop an experience in itself. Overall, our stay at Shangri-La Hambantota was the perfect blend of luxury, relaxation, and cultural experiences. Between the outstanding hospitality, delicious food, family-friendly activities, and the unique in-house boutiques by Sanjeewa and Thushara, we left with wonderful memories and meaningful keepsakes. Highly recommended for families and anyone looking to experience the very best of Sri Lankan hospitality.
