Rainforest Retreat is located within the southern alps, close to Franz Josef Glacier and countless scenic spots. You’ll be staying within New Zealand’s luscious rainforest but within easy reach of must-do sights and activities. The closest domestic airport is Hokitika, located approximately a one hour and 45-minute drive from the retreat. From Christchurch or Queenstown, it’s just under a five-hour drive to the retreat. Return airport transfers are not included in your package, please plan accordingly.

The Tree House — Your private rainforest hideaway
Stay in a charming Deluxe Tree Hut, nestled amid the rainforest and featuring a king bed with pristine linen and plush pillows. A self-contained retreat, the tree hut is decked out with a large ensuite with rainshower and underfloor heating, a Nespresso coffee machine, a private kitchenette and a TV. With guaranteed 12pm late checkout included, this private rainforest hideaway offers everything you need for a cosy escape with that someone special.
Deluxe Lodge Upgrade: Enjoy the luxury of more space and a generous outdoor deck overlooking the rainforest when you upgrade to the expansive 40sqm Deluxe Tree Lodge. Furnished with one king and one single bed, this secluded lodge can sleep an additional third guest for a surcharge (see Fine Print for details).
The Food — Daily breakfast hamper and nightcap at the bar
Every morning of your stay, you’ll receive a gourmet continental breakfast hamper delivered to your tree house. Set yourself up for the day with freshly baked bread, cereals, muffins, fruit, juice and preserves.
After long days exploring, return to Monsoon Restaurant + Bar for one nightly drink per person. Choose between a glass of house wine, beer, spirit or soft drink.
An NZ$50 food and drink credit per package is also included in your escape. Treat yourself and someone special to a bottle of wine to share or dine on delicious dishes such as a meat feast sharing board featuring a half rack of pork ribs, spicy chicken wings and crispy pork crackling, gourmet pizzas and burgers, salads and prime local beef.

Extra Guest Policy: One additional guest (aged two years and over) may stay for a surcharge of NZ$50 per night, sleeping on existing bedding (one king bed and one single bed) with accommodation and breakfast hamper provisions. Payable directly to the hotel.
Baby Policy: One baby (aged one year and under) may stay free of charge and will count towards maximum room occupancy. A cot can be provided by the hotel free of charge on request.
