Griffith was designed by noted architect Walter Burley Griffin in the early 20th century. European migrants settled in the region after World War I and II and helped build the distinctive food and wine culture that still stands today. The first winery was established in 1912 only a short distance from Griffith and now the area has developed into a successful wine-making region. Famous wineries include De Bortoli Wine and Calabria Family Wines.
Take a delectable adventure on a winery or farm tour or head into town to browse providores for locally-made delicacies including Bertoldo’s Pasticceria, a family bakery since 1952.
