We visited the president hotel and definitely weren’t disappointed, what a stunning beautiful venue with super friendly staff. We had a stunning view from our window of The Lions Head which was amazing. Sadly the sun deck and pool were being refurbished but we were invited to go to the hotel next door and use their facilities, so all good! Can’t wait to visit again and enjoy the hotel again.

This hotel was absolutely incredible. From the moment you arrived, you are greeted by the friendly staff who then guide you around the hotel. The rooms are beautiful and always clean. The two restaurants have lovely food and always friendly and attentive staff. The breakfast buffet was always amazing, full of yummy food. We had a gorgeous view of the water from our room and it was only a very short walk down to the water from the hotel. When I come back to Cape Town I will definitely be staying here. Thank you!

Amazing hotel to stay in — clean and spacious lobby and rooms. Perfect location, walking distance to Sea Point, and only 10 minutes’ drive to the Waterfront. The staff’s hospitality is remarkable — they are well trained, attentive to every single detail, and greet you warmly whenever you come or go. From the very first step into the hotel, you can feel the genuine hospitality. The anniversary cake was a thoughtful touch. Breakfast options are reasonable. I tried the room service once, and I was surprised at how delicious the dinner was. Car parking is not free, but the cost is affordable. The only negative experience we had was the construction. I booked this hotel mainly for its stunning ocean view and paid extra for it. To my disappointment, just one week before arrival — despite booking six weeks in advance — I received a message about major construction in the front garden and pool area, with constant noise. Had I known this earlier, I would never have wasted my money! I had to move to the other side of the hotel, which costs much less, yet I received only minimal compensation in the final price, which i felt was not fair. It was actually downgrade (no coffee machine, no bathtub, no balcony) Despite this, it is strongly recommended, and I believe it’s the best in Cape Town, considering the great value for money. Definitely, I’ll come back

The president is a beautiful location, elegant modern sharp look, BUT, and this was the most disappointing element, was that there is MAJOR construction on at least 1/3 of the property around the swimming pools, the outside restaurant and bar areas. I accept this as positive improvements for the property, however, there is NO notification on their official website, neither from the texts received from the hotel concierge nor from booking.com that there is major construction and that the pool area as well as the bars and outside restaurant are all closed until construction is completed. This was very disappointing as it was 28°c on our arrival date. The whole area is closed off from view when you are in the dining area downstairs, with opaque white sheets. Equally disappointing, was that the rooms termed “with sea view” are not sea facing at all. They are side views. No sea visible. With all credit to the reception, they moved us to a full ocean view room as an upgrade, upon pointing out that this was not what we expected, namely, a side room. So, my suggestion is, when you book, ask the prudent questions in text or phone, as presently, there is a lot OMITTED in their advertising. When the season gets to November, I am sure they will be back to their elegance, but right now, it’s under construction care and best to be aware of this plus drilling in the morning from 8 am onwards.
