Portarlington Grand Hotel

Recently-Refurbished Bellarine Peninsula Heritage Hotel with Breakfast Hamper & Dining Credit
Portarlington Grand Hotel logo

Established in 1888, this charming seaside hotel is the Bellarine Peninsula’s heritage jewel. The century-old facade houses a spectacular modern refurbishment, paying homage to the hotel’s history as a seaman’s reprieve, while offering the highest standard of luxury.

Portarlington is a region famous for its seafood and award-winning wine – don’t miss out on sampling the renowned produce at onsite venues. The Atrium, a friendly neighbourhood pub frequented by locals, serves fresh favourites like locally caught fish of the day and salt and pepper calamari. The Bistro takes it up a notch with signature Portarlington mussels, and local Bellarine distillers, breweries and wineries champion a thoughtful drinks menu at the Front Bar.

The hotel has been restored to its original perfection. The rooms are warm, spotlessly clean and the beds so comfortable. Having stayed here three times now the extra stand out by far is Mikki and Lesley. Having had medical issues on the initial visits these ladies went over and beyond to ensure I was comfortable. They didn't have to, they naturally wanted to help me. The level of service provided to house guests is over and beyond any expectations. Cant wait to be back again in another few months.

*restaurant only review* A little pricier but great. All the meals came out together which I always appreciate. Staff were excellent. Polite, well spoken and knowledgeable. I had a schnitzel with salad and chips. The salad was comprised of decent produce (no tasteless mushy tomato/ token cucumber slice like so many I've had) The basic salad was fresh, chunky and tasty with a good balanced dressing. Great scnitty. Chips thin and crispy. I recommend.

Always a great place to go for a bite to eat. We arrived around 12.20 for lunch, ordered some starters and mains. Food was great as usual, cannot fault the kitchen on this. Sadly we had to wait over an hour for our mains which only arrive at 13:50. It would be great if and when a large group of tables order to let the other patrons know there will be a long wait.

We have been to this pub multiple times & never been disappointed...until now. We went for dinner on Saturday 13/9 & we were really disappointed with the food....my mussels were just warm (some not even), the tomato sauce was like tomato water out of a can (0 flavour/depth/seasoning) and the "toast" that came with it was white bread with grill marks on it? Stone cold bread...not even any butter or seasoning. My husband's steak (requested medium rare) was blackened on the outside & almost white inside it was that over cooked? It was chewy & tasted like grill-gristle 🤨 im sad to say, we wont be going back
