The hotel is beautiful, the rooms are clean and spacious, the staff is courteous and extremely helpful and the breakfast selection is outstanding! BUT, we have to especially mention Tristan, the concierge. Unfortunately, I had a heart attack while touring Queenstown, and I was flown by helicopter to Dunedin. My wife was left behind to get out of the hotel, get a rental car to Dunedin, and other stuff. Tristan was extremely understanding, compassionate and helpful. He helped with everything, made my wife comfortable and feeling better and safe, and made things happen. He even made sure that a lunch pack was made for her before she started to make the 4.5 hour drive. It's people like Tristan that make a vacation turn from a lemon into lemonade. He is an asset to Novotel, Queenstown and the New Zealand tourism! Well done Tristan!!!

I stayed on the first floor, and it was great that I could go directly outside from what looked like a balcony! When I left the balcony, I could just enter through the front desk. The balcony can only be unlocked from the inside, not from the outside, so security is good.

Great selection of food for breakfast. Not a big selection for evening meals. Some evening meals were not cooked well. Shower over the bath, which made it difficult getting in and out. Staff friendly and helpful.

Good location near the water. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Balcony was wasted, with rough concrete floor. No seating and internal views only. Staff eventually provided adequate meal considering 1/2 city power cut.
