We had two overnight stays at the Townsville Mercure, one on our way down to Airlie Beach on the motorcycle and one on the way back to Cairns a few days later. Both stays were great. The rooms are always clean and well-appointed and comfortable when we stay here. We ate dinner twice in the restaurant and breakfast on one occasion. The food was nice, tasty and the menu has a good variety. The drinks from the bar were well priced and also provided a good variety. The staff on both occasions were professional yet friendly. I would highly recommend this accommodation if staying in Townsville.

I stayed for business and cannot speak highly enough of the kind and welcoming staff. They were always very helpful and friendly. The bungalow was delightful for its lovely views and relaxing atmosphere.

Had a very good stay at Mercure with just a few areas for improvement. The property has a lovely resort-style feel which makes for a relaxing atmosphere—definitely one of the highlights. The pool area is fantastic and well maintained, a great place to unwind. However, the spa was a bit of a letdown—it has jets but isn't heated, which makes it less enjoyable, especially if it is a bit of a cooler weather. Check-in staff were excellent—friendly, efficient, and welcoming. They made a great first impression. That said, as an Accor Plus Gold member, I felt there was a lack of recognition. Nothing was mentioned at check-in about welcome benefits, and the welcome drinks weren't explained at all. Small touches like that can make a big difference in guest experience, especially for loyalty members. Room had some mix of modern touches, including a hidden door to the bathroom, which was very cool. Good communication prior to arrival explaining blackout period for dining benefits. Located near a shopping mall and other eateries. Overall, a comfortable stay in a nice hotel.

The wedding coordinators are lovely but the housekeeping is pretty crappy. Had a wedding this weekend and organising everything was great, however, the first room I stayed in, the door was broken and I essentially got a "yeah we know, do this and it will work", and then when we went to our bungalow, there was blood and stains on both the beds and throw blankets.
