The rooms are always clean, no matter how often I stay. It's not a luxurious hotel, nor does it have a striking exterior, but I always choose this one. The bed and pillows are comfortable and I get a good night's sleep. I think Japanese people would also like this hotel. I was greeted by Japanese staff. I knew the Privilege Room I stayed in was soundproof, but I could hear people talking remotely from the next room starting at 3:00 a.m. It was quite noisy. I guess the walls are thin enough that you could hear what they were saying. I guess the soundproofing only blocks out the sounds outside the window. The coffee shop across the street seems to be popular, so I go outside the hotel to get some every morning during my stay.

Old basically clean. Good bed. Housekeeping....poor..replaced towels empty bin made bed no surfaces wiped. No re stocking of tea coffee milk left dirty cups and saucers in room. No vacuuming. Not 2 housekeeping standard worse I've seen

Certainly not a bad hotel. The staff were very accommodating to let us check-in before 2pm and the rooftop heated pool was lovely. However there is black mould growing on the ceiling of the room and stained/damaged lamps that kept flickering.

A last minute trip across to Perth resulted in low availability of hotels and Mercure Perth was one of the only Accor Group options. Being an Accor+ member usually comes with good service and a nice welcome, but not here. At check in there was no conversation, just a room key with no explanation of any hotel amenities. Upon prompting for advice on the parking availabilities, the staff member referred me to a sheet of paper and stated she had no idea of any prices even though: 1. She works there and probably explains parking options multiple times a day. 2. Prices were actually printed on the sheet. The room was good and the bed was comfortable. Although a refresh does seem due… No bathroom amenities were provided (except standard soap/shampoo/conditioner). The shower soap was completely empty. The ladies at check out didn’t seem interested and there was no conversation. The second staff member was showing the person serving me something on their phone during this process. Overall, no engagement with guests. I did receive a complimentary bottle of wine delivered to the room as a gold Accor member, however it’s hard to increase a hotels rating because of that as it is generally a perk at every Accor hotel. Improvements are definitely needed.
