Mercure Bali Nusa Dua

Mercure Bali Nusa Dua is probably what you would not expect for an Accor hotel in Nusa Dua – one of the most prestigious areas in Bali. This is because, unlike her sister hotel Sofitel Bali Nusa Dua Beach Resort which is right on the beach front, Mercure Bali Nusa Dua seems to be in the middle of nowhere and is not really by the beach either. In this post, we’ll share our experience of staying at Mercure Bali Nusa Dua for you to determine if this is the hotel for you in your next visit to Bali! Our first impressions of Mercure Bali Nusa Dua is actually pretty good. On the drive into Mercure Nusa Dua, you’ll notice that it has a rather impressive entrance and a nice driveway that leads all the way to a rather large entrance to the hotel. The lobby of Mercure Bali Nusa Dua is not exactly large and is open-air but there are 3 counters, a concierge and transport counter all along the corridor of the lobby. Check-in is usually at 3pm and we arrived at about 11am this morning. Hence, we took the opportunity to chill by the pool and check out the gym of Mercure Bali Nusa Dua first… After confirming our reservation, we walked down the hallway and down a flight of stairs to where the swimming pool of Mercure Nusa Dua is located. You’ll walk past the in-house restaurant (SOKA Restaurant) as well as the pool bar (Gitgit Pool Bar) before climbing up a flight of stairs to the main pool. The hotel itself is dated now. But it is worth the price in comparison to others. Air con compressor is noisy. You do hear everything in the rooms next door. We do like the pool area and food is good.

Check-in was fast, no hassle. Room was clean, good room size, view was great. The building, lobby, lift, aisle, room and interiors looked shabby. There were cracks and chips everywhere from the lift button, doors surface, and bedside table. The large mirror in the room had some desilvering marks. Although the bed was quite comfy. They provide two kinds of pillow to use, hard and soft. Standard amenities were provided. I didn't use the pool but I saw it was clean and large I think it was decent enough to stay for this price range at Nusa Dua. I was a little bit shocked from the state of the facilities.

The room condition was not good. It needs a good renovation. The basin tap does not come with a mixer but the old left and right levers. Too cumbersome when you need a quick rinse. The bath towel is quite old. The gym is simply secluded, and you may not want to visit it at night. The pool does not have night lights or a lifeguard for a safe night swim.
