We just finished a 3 night stay at Marquis and it was amazing!! By far the most luxurious all inclusive we’ve ever stayed at. Food was great, service was 10/10 and the massages we got at the spa were the best we’ve ever gotten.

The resort is absolutely beautiful and offers a very small, intimate setting—perfect for a quiet and relaxing getaway. It’s not ideal for those seeking a lively nightlife, as entertainment options are limited. A few takeaways: 1. I’ve visited many 4- and 5-star all-inclusive resorts, and this is the first that required a $500 deposit at check-in. 2. Considering most guests are English-speaking, the resort would benefit from having more bilingual staff. 3. Approximately 90% of the restaurants require reservations, which can limit dining flexibility. 4. On the positive side, the water pressure is excellent—something that’s not always guaranteed outside of the U.S. Be sure to ask for Gabriella—she provides impeccable customer service and speaks English very well.

I’ll quickly just say do yourself a favor and pick a different resort. The resort is out-dated, and only gives the illusion of a being a luxury resort. Our friend had $2000 stolen from her room by one of the hotel staff. The hotel staff were unhelpful and have a master key to all the safes so you can’t even trust your belongings to be safe in those. On a different day another friend walked into his room and saw hotel staff in his room. When confronted they pretended to be using the room phone. They weren’t cleaners so we still don’t know what the staff was doing. Regarding the quality of the rooms and dining. The beds, uncomfortable. The sheets weren’t soft. The towels felt like sand paper on your skin. The toilet wouldn’t flush properly; you had to hold it down for it to properly cycle the water. The doors on the dresser seemed like they were about to fall off. The overhead fan wouldn’t increase to the 2nd or 3rd faster setting. We could clearly hear the people next to us and above us not because they were being loud just because of the terribly built room. I’ll admit the tacos by the pool were good, but that was quickly overshadowed by the mediocre drinks. The bartenders had to have been watering down the drinks or shorting the alcohol. There were people constantly trying to sell us stuff by the pool. They should try and control this. We got reservations at each dinner location for all of our nights. The food typically came out cold, and the deserts were terrible. The only good dinner we had was the hibachi, but we could see that being cooked right in front of us. So I’ll just reiterate, pick a different resort. There are plenty good ones and this is not the one to give your money too.
