Great located resort with a great pool snd hot spa, right on the centre of everything with an excellent restaurant out front.

We love this place. Fantastic location walking distance to everything. Rooms are well equipped and have a view over the pool or beach. Check-in staff were great. It's an awesome place to visit and staying here means you are in the middle of everything.

We were received by a lovely receptionist, who, during our stay was very pleasant. If we needed towels, toilet paper or sugar it appeared. Our room was on the 3rd floor and our balcony had great views over the large swimming pool, spa and other apartments. The apartment is very spacious but the Internet is rubbish and like dial up and the oven was showing signs of old age and we couldn't read the knobs. A lovely young fellow turned up to show us but couldn't but he had to visit another apartment which had the same oven, took a photo then all was fixed. I had my ribs after all. If you have heavy luggage like my wife and I and are in your mid-seventies get a floor lower down. However, be aware there is no guarantee of vacancy I was told. On our last day my sciatica was playing up so my wife phoned reception for help. The lovely and obliging Magda took our two largest suitcases down to the garage. She suffered but never complained and was so pleasant. Thank you Magda, you were our Guardian Angel. I do recommend this resort but take note of the caveats.

First room we were provided with had an incredibly strong and overpowering smell of mould/mildew. Due to health concerns we returned to reception immediately to let them know, where we were told that it was Nth QLD and all rooms smelled like that! Housekeeping went and checked the room and obviously agreed, because we were then provided with an alternative room which didn’t smell like mould at all. We enjoyed one good night before the air conditioning stopped working. We then had 2 oppressive nights in the humid apartment where we relied on the ceiling fans (and got little sleep). To be fair, on our third and final night we were offered an alternate room AGAIN, however we declined as we were leaving very early the next morning. The lovely receptionist we spoke with at that time said he would email the manager to see if she might consider some form of compensation… we have never heard anything from her. While the location, grounds and pool area of the Mantra Amphora are lovely, the rooms, although spacious, are obviously in need of updating, in particular they need to address the mould/mildew concerns and must ensure all air-conditioning units are well maintained. We had friends and family also staying here at the same time as us and some of them also had issues with the mould smell and air-conditioning units that required repair during their stay. Disappointing stay and we won’t be back. We are also disappointed at the lack of response from management - not even an apology…
