We stayed at Mantra 2 Bond Street Sydney for five nights, and overall, it was a pleasant experience. Although the hotel was undergoing renovations during our stay, we spent most of our days out exploring the city, so the construction didn’t cause much disturbance. The location is excellent—just steps away from the train station and close to many major attractions. It's a very convenient base for getting around Sydney. The breakfast was also enjoyable, with a wide variety of options that left us satisfied each morning. That said, there were a few downsides. The hotel has three elevators, but only two were in service during our stay. With 18 floors to accommodate, the elevators were often full during peak hours, which led us to take the stairs more often than expected. One evening, we returned to find no staff at the front desk, which slightly affected our sense of security. Additionally, the door lock in our room felt a bit outdated and didn't seem particularly secure from the outside. We hope the hotel will consider upgrading these in the future. All in all, despite a few minor drawbacks, the positives outweighed the negatives. This is still a well-located, comfortable hotel that we’d be happy to recommend.

T'was overall a pretty good weekend stay-cation. Studio room is a good size. Comfortable bed. The Air / AC vents need some serious cleaning as well as the bathroom floor drain. Shower head needs cleaning or replacing! Breakfast experience was a total downer but luckily the location provided heaps of good cafe / breakfast options. Location is the best! Tram across the road that will take you to Circular Quay or further into the Sydney CBD. High end shops and shops plus eateries and cafes all in walking distance. Wynyard train station 1 min walk to take you to the Domestic Airport. As soon as they sort out the dirty AC / Air vents, bathroom floor drain and shower head... we'll be back! PS - there is noise late at night from the pub/nightclub crowds but its bearable. Just take note if you are a very light sleeper ;-)

Overall, the experience was fine. Staff friendly, rooms good, location great. The only reason it wasn't very good was that staying with the family, we were very excited to use the rooftop pool and spa which one part of the website declared closed until May 2025 for exterior renovations. Being that we stayed in September 2025, it seemed reasonable to assume the facilities were available. Wrong. It should be noted that on another page of the website it states pool and spa closed until October 2025, something I discovered after being told it was unavailable to us. The desk staff indicated that the pool and spa were likely to be closed into early 2026. Some clarity on this subject would he been useful as access to these facilities definitely played a part in the selection of this hotel for my family. Likely would have been staying somewhere else if we had known they were closed for our stay.

Room was modern. I booked an Executive Studio Apartment and was very happy with split level layout. Surprised there was no coffee machine. I don't drink instant coffee. Even a coffee pod machine would have been a bonus. Most hotels and short stay places have them. Maintenance guys were very prompt in responding when wifi casting didn't work on TV which they solved quickly. Also quick to respond when I found other television opposite bed didn't work. Turned out that TV was broken. Slightly dirty around power points and light switches. Signage on wall near lifts was missing an arrow so went the wrong way to my room, 217 - easy to fix but not done. Whilst waiting for lift looked out window into courtyard and there was paper rubbish all over the place, pot on its side, plants untended and it had a really delapidated look. Close to Wynyard train station for travelling with luggage to and from airport. Easily walk to Circular Quay and Rocks. Australia Square food court handy on week days. I also booked this hotel for its pool, but didn't notice when booking it was closed as part of the renovations. Was hidden in the blurb as I was concentrating on looking at rooms and pricing. No reciprocal arrangements for using other hotel pools. I paid $714 for two nights and expected more.
