I recently finished my stay at the Kimpton Banneker hotel and it was amazing. From start to finish, the staff was very helpful and helped with all of my questions and needs. Specifically Cassandra, she was very knowledgeable and helpful as she assisted me with both checking in and checking out. She was polite and made sure my stay was the best overall experience. I started and finished my vacation with peace of mind knowing I was in good hands. The doormen were also very friendly, would definitely stay again!

Our room and the hotel were very clean. The room had nice decor and we were pleased with the amenities. Complimentary breakfast was included in our one-night stay. We never had to wait more than 5 minutes for ride share. Shout out to Antonio and Tiffany at the front desk. They were very accommodating, friendly, and knowledgeable about the area and getting around. An overall great vibe. We will definitely be coming back!

My wife and I recently spent a weekend in DC and had a good stay. The room was very clean, common areas have interesting art pieces and the location was convenient. A coffee maker would’ve been nice but it wasn’t a big deal The valet service was very convenient and the valets were on the ball. One problem we had was our passenger side window, which is damaged, was lowered for some reason and it was a pain to manually put it back into position while sitting in front of the hotel. I don’t know why there would be a need to lower any of the windows in the first place.

Very disappointed in our stay. We checked in on Friday and by Saturday morning there was a urine stain in front of our door that we had to step over leaving our room. (There was one other room in the nook. We didn’t have pets with us) Wednesday when we checked out, 5 days later, the urine stain was still there. If you are pet friendly you should be guest friendly also and clean it up. We ordered pizza after a long day of site seeing. My husband went downstairs for cold drinks after finding the ice machine was not plumbed to work. The dasher was downstairs with the pizza. He asked 3 times if it were for us and dasher said “yes, take it” and left. Turns out it was not our order. We thought they simply forgot mushrooms. Several minutes later a front desk girl knocked, pointed at the pizza and told my husband “this is your order” in a nasty tone and took it away. She said absolutely nothing else. She acted like he stole something and he was telling her as she walked away that the guy said it was his and he asked 3 times. At that point everything begins to jump out and I noticed the mold that covered the shower grout and started imagining everything was dirty- the urine stain, the mold, the nasty tone. My mind begins racing. Were the sheets actually clean? Did they disinfect the touchpoints- door handles, remote, faucets??? I travel a lot for work and personal and this was not a good experience. They even charged us $145 for “amenities” which were WiFi, drip coffee in the lobby in the morning, restaurant on site ($50-100 pp), peloton bikes, 2 bikes in the lobby you could borrow. They didn’t have a hot tub, pool, sauna, not even a microwave. Every hotel I stay on has all these “amenities” except the bicycles to borrow included for free. And never have I stayed somewhere that dog pee was left for at least 5 days outside my door. As you can tell from the length of this review it was quite shocking from any hotel much less one marked as a 4 star. If you stay I hope it is a better experience than my husband and I had. I highly recommend choosing another hotel with so many choices in the DC area.
