Jamala Wildlife Lodge is positioned within Canberra’s National Zoo & Aquarium. The hotel is located an approximately 10-minute drive from Canberra Airport (CBR). Airport transfers are not included in your package. Please plan accordingly.

7-Day Change of Mind ‘No Questions Asked’ Refund Guarantee: Things don’t always work out. Our 7-day Change of Mind Guarantee is there to help. Bookings (except for cruise bookings, flights and deposit fee, if applicable, which are subject to the cancellation terms of the relevant supplier) may be cancelled with a full refund provided that cancellation occurs strictly within 7 days from the date of purchase and provided that the cancellation is made no less than 14 days prior to the check-in date. Excludes flight and service fee, if applicable.

• Cancellations outside of the 7-Day Change of Mind period will not be provided, except as required by Australian Consumer Law, your local law or as otherwise provided for in the Fine Print.

Flexible Cancellation: You can cancel your booking for credit up until 21 days prior to the original check-in date. This can be done via self-service in your ‘My Escapes’ account. Your credit will be valid for 12 months from the date of cancellation. Credits are not transferable and cannot be redeemed for cash. Excludes service fee, if applicable.

Please note this does not apply to flights booked with us. Flight fulfilment is provided by the airline(s) selected at the time of finalising the booking. For your air travel, you are bound by the terms and conditions and fare rules of the selected airline(s).

Date Changes: If you need to amend your booking, you can self-service unlimited date changes in your ‘My Escapes’ account up until 21 days before your original check-in date. If you can’t find a suitable date, or still need further assistance, please contact our 24/7 customer service team. Subject to availability and surcharges.

• Children under four cannot be accommodated.
• Dining inclusions do not include drinks (unless otherwise stated). Menus are subject to change without notice.
• Special animal encounters are with either a giraffe, tiger, lion, hyena or otter (animal subject to availability on the day of departure).
• Specific animal introduction requests cannot be accommodated.
• No spirits are served or permitted to be brought on-site.
• Breakfast is served a la carte per menu with juice, tea or coffee.
• Breakfast is served at either 7am, 8am or 9am depending on the room type selected. Guests will receive an itinerary before arrival.
• Pre-dinner drinks commence at 6.15pm on the terrace at the Rainforest Cafe. Drinks are unlimited during dinner meal service.
• Dinner is inclusive of an entree, main and dessert followed by digestifs.
• If you arrive by 1pm on your first day you can enjoy afternoon tea including hot and cold food and sweets, between 1pm and 2.30pm at the Rainforest Cafe.
• Guests staying in a Giraffe Treehouse or Jungle Bungalow must arrive by 1.30pm, to ensure they are on time to join their guided tour.
• Self-guided zoo tour: a professional booklet has been prepared by zoo guides, along with a map of the lower section of the zoo.
• The Shark Grand Suite has its own private floor, up a flight of stairs in uShaka Lodge. You won’t be able to see any sharks from your room but will be guided to an adjoining terrace that sits directly above the shark tank for a private meet and feed. You will also have the exclusive opportunity to feed hyenas.
• The guided safari is within the open range section of the zoo with a knowledgeable and passionate guide. You will get to experience the sights and sounds of the resident animals as they awaken and prepare for the day. This tour allows you to get inside knowledge of the animals, from rhinos and giraffes to zebras and deer.
• Guests will get to have a special animal encounter with either a giraffe, tiger, lion, hyena or otters. The animal encounter will be booked by the Jamala reservations team before guest arrival. These encounters are subject to availability on the day. There will be one animal encounter per room. Most encounters run for 25 minutes.
• Guests staying two or more nights will have the benefit of an 11am exclusive Jamala Tour to witness the feeding of animals in the zoo.
