Had an absolutely fantastic stay here. The staff were so accommodating, had to extend our stay by a night and it was no issue. Rooms were lovely and clean, the beds were very comfortable. Location was fantastic. I would come back to this hotel in a heartbeat.

I recently stayed at Hotel Indigo in Chester and had a really lovely experience. From the moment we arrived we were warmly greeted and were pleasantly surprised with a complimentary upgrade to a room with a balcony. Check in was quick and easy and when we got to our room we were really pleased with the cosy feel, great amenities and even a complimentary drink which was a nice touch. The hotel has a stylish bar and restaurant and while we didn’t dine there we did go for breakfast. This was probably the least enjoyable part of our stay as it was a bit confusing being given a menu and told about both a continental buffet and English breakfast, only to later find out you could only choose one option. Luckily our server, who was really friendly and helpful, let us order from the menu and take the English breakfast. Even with the great service the food didn’t quite live up to the rest of the experience. That said, the stay overall was really enjoyable and the property itself is lovely. It’s just on the edge of the city centre, which is handy, though worth noting there’s no on site parking. However, within a 5 to 10 minute walk near the train station there’s parking available at £12 for 24 hours. I’d happily recommend it for a stay in Chester.

Style over substance. Rooms are dimly lit, which is a shame as the decor looks good. Beds extremely soft and not to my liking. In the room there were a number of issues: phone not working, coffee machine needed to be replaced and no tv remote. Service was also a weak point. Difficulty getting a table for dinner in the restaurant, with being told the booking was closed at 11am. Food in the Forge restaurant very expensive and over blown. I ordered a pork tomahawk, but was served little better than a thin chop in a gravy - not good for £28. The dirty mash was similarly too fussy and also over seasoned. £7 for mash with a gravy 'dressing' and a chicken skin crumble.... Definitely a case of style over substance on all fronts
