We stayed at Hotel Indigo Alishan as a family and felt so welcomed the moment we arrived. We checked in around 7pm on 23 October and were greeted by a lovely receptionist (I forgot to get her name!) who was very patient and helpful with all our questions. A big thank you to the hotel team for beautifully decorating the room to celebrate our parents’ wedding anniversary and birthday, such a thoughtful surprise that meant a lot to us! During check-out, we were again warmly greeted by the staff, Autumn, Sherye and Daniel. They gave us a sweet card with the kindest message, and it really made our day. The card was signed by all the hotel staff ❤️ The room was spacious, clean, and extremely comfortable. Thank you to the lovely staff for making our stay such a wonderful experience. We can’t wait to stay with Hotel Indigo again wherever we travel!

Best Indigo I’ve been visit. You can tell the designer did lot of effort to combine local elements with the hotel. Service is 10/10. Every people is very helpful and greeting all the time to make you feel welcomed. Daniel and Sherryl are the best!!! Indoor Parking is more than enough. Offer shuttle bus to Alishan and Fenqihu old street. Best place to see sunrise at their rooftop, and just need to wake up 10 mins before sunrise. (A+++) Infinity pool is beautiful and perfect for instagramer :) Having some hotel activities in the afternoon like handmade soap, tea leave making etc. hope to see more activities on weekend. We stay 2 night on weekend, but all three days are same activities. It would be a plus if they can also offer 1 shuttle to chiayi city (train station/ HSR) per day. It tooks 1.5 hours if you take city bus from chaiyi train station to the hotel. 2-5pm- happy hour for guests. Pineapple cake is very good! Buffet Breakfast is very nice and offer lots of dishes (Taiwanese and western dishes) Personally not a fan of the dinner. Main course is just okay, and hybrid buffet didn’t really give lots of options of dishes. Mainly seafood (sashimi) - if you like raw fish… Just not really worth to spend $100ish for this type of dinner…

Wonderful stay and I would definitely want to stay again if I revisit Alishan. Location: + Hotel is situated at Longpingtou, in the middle of the journey between Chiayi and Alishan. There's a bus station just 2-3 mins walk from the hotel. + Free shuttle bus service between Alishan and the hotel (have to reserve in advance) and the ride is around an hour. + There's a walking trail near its entrance - Longyinshan. The walk is around an hour to and fro and comprises of steep but maintained stairs. Room: + Room is spacious and the bed is huge. + There's many aspects of the aboriginal culture in the room. + There's a comfy sofa at the balcony where you can sit and have snacks. No bugs or whatsoever (at least in Oct). + Bathtub is gorgeous. + Toiletries are not provided as part of the environmental policy in Taiwan but you can request for it e.g. cotton buds using the AI helper in the room. + The AI helper can also play music, set alarm clocks and answer simple questions. Amenities: + Rooftop pool and jacuzzi that also serves as sunrise viewing point. Unfortunately it's too misty during my visit but I can imagine the view when it's clear. The pool water is warm so it's comfy to soak and swim in. + The showers also comprise of a spin dryer for swimsuits. + Rooftop bar that also serves welcome drink to ihg member. Staff: + Very friendly and helpful concierge and restaurant staff. + I called to check on the bath tea sachets and they immediately deliver within minutes. + Upon checkout the conceirge even wrote a thank you letter.

The hotel is located on the top of a mountain. Great views, not many restaurants around, but great to visit tea farms and do some trails. The pool in the roof top must be one of the best pools in Taiwan! Staff is great - not everyone speaks fluent English, but Harry and Josie at the reception were great, and Andrea, the bartender in the roof top bar, was phenomenal. The room is ok, small for the price, but quite decent and well organised. The main issue is the food. No options around for food after 7.30pm (and even earlier, not much around), and the hotel forces a very expensive self service buffet or a blunt portions (eg, beef noodles or fried rice) at the bar upstairs. After the first night having dinner at the hotel, we had to find ourselves dining at 7-eleven. Not great experience. Other than food, the stay was great!
