The Holiday Inn Express Cape Town City Centre by IHG will be highly recommended by me . Thank you to the amazing staff from checking in to housekeeping and maintenance, the staff have been pleasant and so friendly, our first time in Cape town and I couldn't have chosen a better hotel, perfect location, easy to get around, close to many shops, restaurants loved the flee markets which was a walk away! the hotel is so clean, neat and affordable! I loved the breakfast every morning! compliments to the breakfast staff every morning they where on the ball! so efficient friendly and patient. we also had the most amazing, breathtaking view of table mountain from the mini gym! If I ever come back to cape town, I will only be staying at the Holiday Inn Express Cape Town City Centre by IHG!!

Our recent stay at the Holiday Inn Express in Cape Town with my husband was highly enjoyable. While the property exhibits a classic aesthetic, the exceptional service provided by the staff significantly enhanced our experience. The hotel's convenient location allowed easy access to various attractions, and the availability of secure, paid parking, along with the attentive valet service, proved to be invaluable. The staff consistently demonstrated professionalism, courtesy, and a welcoming demeanor, which greatly contributed to our overall satisfaction. The complimentary breakfast, as well as the front desk staff, also received high marks for their warmth and efficiency. Although the hotel does not have a pool, the staff provided helpful recommendations for nearby swimming options. Furthermore, the on-site gym offered a remarkable view of Table Mountain.

Stayed here recently and overall, it was a decent experience for a 3-star hotel. The hotel boasts a fantastic location right in the city center, near the historic Company’s Garden. The rooms are clean, well-maintained and comfortable. The Staffs are friendly and helpful. Overall, a solid choice for budget-conscious travelers looking for clean, comfortable accommodation in the heart of Cape Town, with good service and a prime location.

I travelled to Cape Town during March 2025 for work and booked a 4 night stay at the Holiday Inn Express for myself and a colleague. Upon arrival, we were shocked by the state of the hotel's location as well as the reception and common areas. There were loiterers outside, including some staff members sitting outside and smoking on the curb. The floors in reception were filthy and there were huge boxes and suitcases taking up a lot of the floor space. We checked in and went upstairs to our rooms, which smelled of smoke despite us booking non-smoking rooms. I found my room to be musty and the carpets unclean. We went downstairs to the bar area where large groups of people were extremely rowdy and intoxicated. The place smelling of marihuana and stale beer. We requested access to a boardroom facility in order to attend to some work, but had to wait half an hour for someone from reception to find a staff member that could assist us. Upon entering the meeting room, we found chairs strewn about and food scraps on the boardroom table that we had to clean off before sitting down to work. While we were working, the noise outside from the drunk patrons were increasing and at some point I had to go up to my room to fetch documents. When I approached the elevator, a man was sitting on the couch in front of the elevator without shoes on. He had his bare feet on the couch and was picking at his toe nails. We felt so unsafe and uncomfortable that we decided to check out at 21h30 that same night and found alternative accommodation at a hotel a few kilometers away. Upon checking out, we were told by staff that there was no-one that could assist us in processing the check out and I would need to call reception in the morning to check out and request a partial refund. We contacted reception the next morning and from 17 March to 10 April my office was in constant contact with Sonia Solomons, who is a reservation agent for the hotel, to receive our refund. The Hotel undertook to refund us a portion of our costs amounting to R7,731.66 - however despite various follow ups the money was never received and our correspondence is now simply being ignored. Terrible experience. I would never advise someone to stay there.
