Expedia charged extra for a ciry view room. The room above was considered classic. I had to pay an additional $20 fee per night for a room with a view. Although the staff was nice, I did not expect to pay extra for the room. I'm clostraphobic and I arranged to be in a room that accommodated my needs. Unfortunately the hotel and expedia have simingly different descriptions of the rooms.

'Fine' is the word that comes to mind when I think of the Hamilton Hotel. We stayed for a quick 2-night weekend trip to be tourists in the Nation's Capital, and I think the location of the Hamilton Hotel was fine for that. Could we have stayed closer to the big attractions, sure, but this hotel was a 20 min walk to a lot of the big tourist sights in D.C. which was fine for us. In terms of the hotel stay itself, the room was clean, air con worked well, beds were comfortable, pillows were trash (I have yet to meet a hotel pillow that doesn't immediately turn your head into a pillow taco when you lay down) and the bathroom was on the smaller side, but fine for a quick 2 night stay. The biggest selling factor for this hotel is the Capitol-style lobby - it really gives that 'wow' factor when you walk in. I'm not dying to rush back here for another stay, but if the price was right, then I would stay here again.

Location is amazing! Walk out and explore in every direction. You get the full DC experience right out the door- restaurants, nightlife, parks, history. Room needs updating but it’s not uncomfortable. No microwave, no bathroom fan, shower head sprays everywhere Check-in was very quick. Needed extra towels and staff brought them quickly. I would stay here again due to location alone but the rooms could use a nice upgrade.

The hotel’s location was convenient and the price was fair, but overall my experience was underwhelming. Breakfast service lacked consistency, and the quality of food did not match expectations for a four-star rating. The silverware was sticking to the table. Some staff were not as transparent or helpful as they should be, and there were moments of unprofessional behavior from management that impacted the experience. Improvements in communication, cleanliness, and guest service would make a significant difference. You get what you pay for.
