As a golf group we recently spent 7 nights. This facility was superb. The location pits you within a 5 minute walk to many bars and restaurants; however, it is far enough away to be quiet. The staff was clearly well trained with expectations of great customer service. Every staff that passed by in a hall wished me a good day. Highly recommend this facility.

A gem of a hotel. First time visit. The luxurious appointments and attention to detail are everywhere. But most of all, it is the friendly and helpful nature of the staff that really stands out. They make you feel so welcome and relaxed, and are able to see to any need. The team at Brownes Bar, led by Mike, put a smile on your face. If I had to find something that didn't quite measure up, it was the temperature of the room. Hard to regulate. It was warmer than I would have liked. Open windows helped. Our departure before 6am was made so much easier by the wonderful breakfast spread and to-go packaging provided by the Great Southern team. What a nice touch. A visit we won't forget. If you are looking for a hotel in the Killarney area, this is where you want to be!

I can not rate this hotel and the staff high enough. Every single detail and interaction was top notch. I traveled to Ireland from the United States and experienced several days of delayed and canceled travel and was 2 days into missing luggage. I had also booked a different hotel and had a really unpleasant experience upon checking in. I searched for another hotel nearby and ended up just walking into The Great Southern Killarney. I asked if they had any rooms for the night (it was early evening), and the staff could immediately tell I was having a rough day. The Guest Relations Manager, Evelyn, booked me a beautiful room, helped me get my luggage, and anything else I needed. When I got to the room, she had left a bottle of wine, sweets, and some lovely room amenities. I started crying at how wonderful and caring she was. I had the best night of sleep the whole trip, enjoyed the most amazing breakfast and felt like a new person. The hotel, the rooms and the grounds were beautiful and every detail thought through and cared for. I would absolutely recommend this hotel to everyone. And Evelyn is an absolute angel.

Stayed here for one night and enjoyed our time. The staff were excellent and the history of the hotel, along with the old world feel inside, made it charming. This hotel originally wasn’t a planned stop for us however we had spent a few nights at the sister property (Hayfield Manor in Cork) and after falling in love with that property we decided to stay here as well. Upon arrival, we were provided a beautiful room which they graciously upgraded and they left a thank you letter with some sweets in the room. This was a lovely added touch! A room was very nice and overall a beautiful hotel however, there was no comparison to the feeling that Hayfield manner had given us. Breakfast here was very good with plenty of selection. We didn’t care for the fact that the pool and spa facilities were shared with public access, people swimming lengths which meant not just relaxing poolside for us. It’s not a complaint per se, but made for a different vibe that we weren’t expecting. Overall, this is a beautiful hotel and we very much enjoyed our stay. Five stars to the wonderful staff here!
