Freedom Shores is set in a beautiful hidden valley on the outskirts of Airlie Beach, overlooking the turquoise waters of Pioneer Bay and capturing the natural surroundings of the ocean and tropical rainforest. It’s approximately a 35-minute drive from Proserpine Whitsunday Coast Airport (PPP). Transfers are not included in your package, please plan accordingly.

Freedom Shores was wonderful. The staff are outstanding and the view from this unique small family run resort was incredible. The continental breakfast was plentiful and delicious. We ate our dinners at the Northerlies which is a fun open air restaurant each night. As Freedom Shores is not in the center of Airlie Beach, I would highly recommend that anyone staying there should rent a car upon arrival at the Whitsundays Airport. Uber just arrived to Airlie Beach and there are only 3 Ubers in the area. 13Cabs does have cabs, but not easily accessed unless you have an Australian Cell # to log onto the App. There is a free shuttle service that can transport you to different areas in town, but you need to call them to arrange pickup. The hotel did arrange for a transport with "Need a Ride" whose driver was very pleasant and fun. # 1 Recommendation: Rent a car upon arrival
