BreakFree Cosmopolitan Surfers Paradise

We asked our agency to place us in a room at the top of the hotel (secretly with the reception). it was done as soon as we checked in. The rooms are clean, very clean floor. It's unfortunate that we couldn't open the window of our bedroom to air it. It's noisy at night with the attraction to the left of the hotel. Location is bad for the swimming pool too but service at the top.

This stay was an issue from the minute we arrived. Did early/pre check in - paperwork stated level 11, on check in got given a key for level 3. Ended up on level 7 after some rearranging. Once we got into the room, there was a condom wrapper and ear bud in the bedroom, floor was filthy. Top of cupboards were dusty. No clothes line to hang clothes. Both bedroom windows leaked. Fan in bathroom and toilet didn’t work. Only one tv remote for two tvs. No warning that the hot water would be scorching hot. Broken/loose toilet seat Was advised the room had two toilets when I enquired only to find out when we arrived that no rooms have two toilets. Maintenance manager Trevor was great once he found out about the cleanliness of the room.

Handy location at central heart of Surfer Paradise however the street downstairs is way too busy and noisy. We were a bit struggling at check-in as no any code of key lockers were sent to us (reception closed at that time). No Wifi/toilet tissue were provided until we asked.

Have been coming here for years, last time was 2008. Unfortunately the room I was in was below average. The overall appearance seemed OK at first, until you start realising the details. The separate toilet had numerous tiles missing, the toilet seat looked quite old, with scratches on it for some reason. The sliding glass doors in. The bedroom were stuck in a position, so could not be opened. The curtains had rails missing,and did not close all the way. The kitchen tap also did not move from side to side of each sink,when trying to do that,the tap would move back to one side of the sink. The toaster was extremely old,with dry crusted food matter on it. The shower seemed quite vintage looking,not in a good way. The whole apartment could have done with some repairs, which would have made it quite pleasant and upped the score up quite a bit. Pool facilities were nice,and the view was magnificent, the hotel location being just across the road from the centre of surfers paradise. The reception girl was very nice, and extremely helpful. I would not come back here again, unless the cosmopolitan did some kind of renovation, which is quite unfortunate as we had good memories at the place
