The hotel is beautiful and very calm, right by the beach but far from any town (15 min by car, over an hour to big cities). Perfect if you want peace and quiet, less so if you need easy access to shops or activities. Staff were kind and attentive. However, it is very expensive compared to most hotels in Morocco, so I expected everything to be top-notch.

I went to the restaurant in the evening with my family and had a great first experience in the restaurant of this beautiful hotel. Everyone was very kind and helpful. Our compliments to the staff. Also do they have a good eyes for details with children for example where to sit in the non smoke area or kindly contact with our children. For me that is also good service! I would definitely recommend the restaurant. Amal who works there gave us good recommendations about the sweets. Good job Amal and our compliments👍🏻 I would like to go back to stay in the hotel and get a full experience of the Banyan Tree Tamuda Bay

We had a great stay. The staff is welcoming and has a sense of attention to details. The villas were very spacious, although it would be nice to have an option for twin beds. The breakfast is outstanding and the beach and swimming pool are great. We did have a noise issue due to a nearby night club but we were moved to another villa on the following day. I would recommend avoiding those that are on the northern edge of the resort. I do not recommend the restaurants, especially the Buddha bar which is extremely overpriced compared to the food quality and advice (80MAD for a coke served in a can is a rip-off anywhere). There were some shows near the beach area on evenings but mostly attended by a clientele from outside the hotel which was a stark contrast to the family-friendly atmosphere that could be enjoyed during the day. Perhaps the hotel’s management should rather focus on its own customers for evening entertainment.

Edit based on reply from owner: This reply is deeply disheartening and dishonest. Will address the two blatant lies in your reply: (1) I raised these issues on Day 1 and each day of the stay (2) this is my only post / review so the whole “..used as a tool to repeatedly seek compensation..” is just a wild response. I’ve attached some videos and photos of ants in the food and bed. ———- As frequent travelers trying to enjoy our honeymoon, we chose Banyan Tree Tamouda Bay with high expectations, trusting the global reputation of the Banyan Tree brand for luxury and attention to detail. Unfortunately, our stay was marred by serious hygiene issues, poor service, and a general disregard for guest comfort—making this not only the low point of our honeymoon, but one of the most disappointing hotel experiences we’ve ever had. From the moment we arrived, ants were a pervasive issue. We discovered them crawling through our checked luggage, inside our purses and bags, in the bathroom (including the shower and toilet), and even in the bed. The most egregious moment came when we found ants in our room service breakfast right when it was delivered to the room. This was not an isolated occurrence—it was symptomatic of a broader cleanliness and pest control problem that staff later admitted was “common.” What was most troubling, however, was the hotel’s dismissive response. When we raised the issue with the Customer Relations Manager, Osama, we were met with deflection and blame. He insinuated the ants were our fault, suggesting we may have left sweets in our belongings. This was simply not the case. Rather than providing meaningful support, Osama offered to help us "shake out our clothes" and stated that laundering them wasn’t possible. The following morning, a different staff member told us that laundry could, in fact, be arranged “without any issue.” The conflicting information—combined with what now appears to be a deliberate lie—was frustrating and unacceptable, particularly given the context of our honeymoon. We also encountered repeated lapses in basic hospitality. Despite requesting bottled water from multiple staff members (including Osama), it rarely arrived. When we attempted to speak with the General Manager (Sana Sayad) at checkout to share our concerns directly, we were asked to wait nearly an hour and repeatedly told she was “on her way.” She never showed up. After finally speaking with other staff at checkout, they expressed that they wanted to offer us a full refund due to the severity of the issues but said they were unable to do so because we had booked through Expedia. Taking initiative, we contacted Expedia directly to try and resolve the matter. To our surprise, we were later contacted by the General Manager (Sana Sayad) herself—who claimed that a refund had never been discussed at all. Once again, this points to deliberate dishonesty from the management team, which only added insult to injury. Adding to our distress, our neighboring villa had a dog that barked incessantly, often until 12–1 AM. We reported the noise multiple times and received no help. When I eventually raised the issue directly with Osama—after we had already called about it over four hours earlier—his response was: “What do you expect me to do? You didn’t talk to me, did you?” Frankly, I was stunned. What kind of response is that from a manager in a luxury resort? At this price point and from a brand that markets itself as a luxury escape, the standards should be dramatically higher. Pest infestations, dismissive service, misleading communication, and noise disturbances are not minor inconveniences—they are failures that fundamentally undermine the guest experience. I hope this helps others make informed decisions, and would highly recommend avoiding this place while under current management. Future guests deserve much better.
