A 5* location and facilities, let down by 3* service, food and constant additional overpriced charges for services you typically receive in a 5* hotel e.g airport transfers 7x the cost of a local taxi for a 5 min ride, no water provided throughout hotel, stand up paddle boards extremely expensive per hour. Don’t get me wrong, the ocean view room was incredible, we loved the view and the room was 5* quality except the hotel had seemed to have locked the AC so it can’t go below 21 degrees. Service struggled at times, although friendly staff struggled to understand a few things or be proactive and the Japanese restaurant was empty with average food. As per other reviews, breakfast hugely disappointing, limited fruit and non-Indonesian selection with poor taste. A 5* location and facilities, with fantastic staff on the boat trip, just really lags behind truly 5* hotels in terms of service, although we stayed an extra night as we loved the location and sunset from the pool.

This is a stunning luxury hotel in a beautiful location. We couldn't fault the staff and the food was great. A few things for consideration of the management though: The menus indicated allergens with symbols but when I said I have a nut allergy, it turned out that a dish containing nuts had been labelled incorrectly. This could be dangerous and if allergens are labelled, they should be accurate. The taxis, day trips, and spa were extremely overpriced for the area so we used other options in Labuan Bajo which were better value. We also avoided the expensive breakfast buffet.
