Great service. Stayed at banyan tree years ago and liked the chill vibe. Was a little tough to get food outside tho, no grab/uber. Worthy thing to note- I felt unwell and they arranged a car to send me to the clinic at 9pm, complimentary to and fro. The duty manager was also all smiles, introduced himself to us and showed care and sincerity. We will be back!

Okay - let me caveat the 5 stars. The service is, without question - 5 stars. The rooms, for the money we spent, were 5 stars. Sure, it’s an older resort, and the rooms and feel is older, but that’s the compromise. At $120 per night, what would you expect? It’s a very cheap getaway. Location is great, close ish to the ferry terminal and great if you’re a golfer booked to play Laguna. Only 15 mins via the free shuttle to Plaza Lagoi where you’ll find a few restaurant options. Back to the service - my lord they are good. On a busy long weekend, remembering all our names and bending over backwards to ensure our stay was enjoyable…. Particular mention goes to Gideon, the desk manager during our trip. Nothing was too difficult, friendly and diligent - a true service professional - the kid is going places. Whilst I’m he will have climbed life’s ladder by the time we next visit and is no longer there, I will actually be sad not to see him. Don’t worry though, there are plenty of amazing and talented service staff ready to take good care of you. So, it’s a touch old and tired, but it’s cheap as hell and the human touch is on a whole other level. Go give it a try next long weekend.

This place exceeded all my expectations. When I first stepped in the place looked dated from the outside. But the room was surprisingly nice and modern. Had a comfortable sleep at night. Waking up to the nice view of the ocean was also a pleasant surprise. The cherry on top though was the service provided by Chris and his crew - Everyone was friendly and helpful. The food at breakfast was also surprisingly good. Will definitely come back to this resort for another stay!

We stayed 5 nights at this hotel. As a reminder this hotel is announced to be a 5-star hotel so my review will take it in consideration. I will start with the negative : - the hotel is seriously worn out and the lack of attention to details unacceptable for an hotel of this category. Everywhere you walk you can see that there has been no investment in the material and infrastructures (see the photos). The sunbeds are in very poor condition, so are the towels, and everything in the resort. The gardens are in poor condition as well. - During the weekdays, this place felt like a ghost hotel : no staff around, restaurant seemed close, no-one at the pool - The prices are shockingly high. We only had food and drinks from the Xana which is the cheapest option and cocktails start at 20 sgd, beer cans at 8 sgd, with pizzas around 16 sgd. And again, this is the cheapest option, all other decent restaurants are far more expensive. The Casia restaurant was not an option since food wasn't good. - finishing with the worst : this is a place where people go to rest, especially over long weekends. The management decided that it was a brilliant idea to have a company event on Saturday night from 8 - 10 pm (11 pm singapore time) at the pool with lood music and a very annoying lady at the mic. What for people with kids? Or for people like us that where waiting for long time to have some relaxing time? It's a lack of respect! Now the positive : - the beach is stunning - the management is responsive when you have a complain. After we complained for the company event we were offered massages. - The staff is very friendly and polite. They do a great work even if you need to repeat sometimes several times your order before you get what you want. So in summary, this is not a 5-star hotel, maybe somewhere in between 3 and 4 stars. Do we recommend this place? No. And it's very unlikely that we will ever return there unless there is some serious work done.
